The story begins with one of the richest soils on earth, a rarity that exists in but 1% of the world, and with the purest water.
Shirakami Sanchi, located in Aktia Prefecture, remains largely untouched by human activity, creating a unique, thriving ecosystem that is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. ALBION pursued the richest soil and purest water, natured by Shirakami's Ecosystem for its farm.
Farm field
We plant and harvest, following the natural plant cycle. No pesticide use requires us to pay close attention to each plant, and the selective breeding of surviving plants allows us to harvest the together plants. With care, our staff harvest by hand one by one.
Processing facility
We carefully handle harvested plants through a meticulous process. Each plant is hand-washed with cool local groundwater from Shirakami, and we air-dry them to preserve quality, despite the longer time required.
Laboratory
We transformed an old kindergarten into a lab, equipped with state-of-the-art biotechnology research tools. This lab project exemplifies our commitment to collaborating with the local community and contributing to its development.
Vineyard / Winery
At this facility, we utilize the Essential Extract Method, the first in the cosmetics industry to use this technique. We also produce Shirakami Sanchi Wine to support the local town's specialty.

We cultivate five carefully selected medicinal herbs and Shirakami Yama Sauvignon without the use of agrochemicals. These herbs are hand-harvested and naturally dried to preserve their potency.
Our distinctive no-heat extraction method for Shirakami Yama Sauvignon seeds yields an active ingredient that is six times more potent than grape-derived resveratrol.
At ALBION, we are committed to sustainable sourcing by repurposing leftover grape juice into Shirakami Mountains Wine. This initiative helps reduce waste and supports the local community.

Peony flowers have been used in Japan’s herbal medicine for centuries.
Through joint research with Japan's National Institute of Biomedical Innovation, ALBION’s Shirakami Laboratory cultivated Yumesaika, a new peony variety, specifically for skincare applications. This new species has beautiful, large, vivid pink and gold flowers that open at dawn and contain active skincare ingredients promoting skin radiance.
Yumesaika flowers are hand-harvested in full bloom and carefully processed to preserve their benefits.

Shirakami Complex, a proprietary key ingredient for the Cream, is formulated with seven carefully hand-harvested and hand-processed botanical ingredients from Shirakami farm.
Cornflower extract (Centaurea cyanusflower water) is the star of our ALBION’s proprietary key ingredient: Protereation™. We hand-pick only vivid color petal Cornflowers grown in Shirakami and naturally dry them. This unique process maintains the vivid color of the petals. After the extraction, we formulate it with rice fermented extract and original yeast extract, producing the complex that defend against environmental stressors and support skin’s natural resilience and radiance.
